  • *A Provisional Member is a firm, corporation, or association whose business or interest in the industry is local or regional in scope and has been in business less than one year.
  • *A Provisional Member will follow all the same guidelines of the application and approval process just like a member who is in business for a year. Provisional Members have no voting privileges, are not allowed to use any NARI marketing materials (including the logo), will not have a membership directory listing, nor be allowed participation in Award programs until they become a full member.
  • *A Provisional Member will turn into a full member upon their one year in business date. At that time, they will be put on chapter website and www.NARI.org as a searchable company and will have full member privileges.

ELIGIBILITY: to be eligible to join and complete your application successfully you must:

1) have been in your remodeling-related business for at least 1 year (if your business is less than a year old, we offer provisional membership*)

2) if applicable, carry General or Professional Liability Insurance

3) if applicable, carry Workers Compensation Insurance (if you have employees) 

4) if applicable, have a valid Calif. State Contractor’s License

5) will follow NARI's Code of Ethics

NATIONAL BENEFITS:

Legislative Activity & Reporting: NARI National is in Wheeling, Illinois and works daily on monitoring federal and regulatory activities for all its members to preserve the security of their livelihood.

Consumer Awareness: NARI continually works to educate the consumer about the benefits of hiring a NARI professional through literature, its Web site and press releases. Articles can also be found in Qualified Remodeler Magazine and Remodeling.

Certification and Education: Certification and education of qualified remodeling contractors is a way to recognize the professional standards of the trade and to continually improve the level of business practices within that industry. The Certified Remodeler (CR), Certified Remodeler Associate or Specialist (CRA/CRS), Certified Lead Carpenter (CLC), and Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler (CKBR) designations show which contractors have sought ongoing education, established high professional and ethical standards, have the ability to perform and be knowledgeable in all aspects of remodeling functions and demonstrate proven competence.

RENEWALS DEADLINES: Annual Dues are due from your last renewal date. You can renew simply by paying online with your credit card or debit card, or mailing your renewal fee to: San Francisco Bay Area NARI, P.O. Box 2301, Union City, CA 94587. Dues will increase 5% annually during the chapter's fiscal year. Starting Aug 1, 2026, membership renewal fees will be $615.00.
